You remember your stick, the item you set out with. You grip it like it's a polearm or a spear and prepare for combat. "You're going to fight me with THAT thing?" The husk asks. You grin. "No," You look the husk dead in the eyes. "I'm going to beat you with it." The husk is charging forward at you. It's advancing quickly, your cudgel in the air. It looks like the end for you, pal. You casually shift the stick to your left hand and look down at the head. "You should know I normally don't hit girls..." You mutter. You drive the stick into the head of the husk. The body stops. The cudgel falls from your hands. The head is frozen in pain, blood dripping from its mouth. "But I don't really have a rule about impalement." You yank the stick from the husk's head. The body collapses, and you go to pick up your cudgel. You sheathe both cudgel and stick and grin. You won. Yeah, there was no damsel after all. But god damn you needed that. "If you'll excuse me, miss. I have an endless flask of alcohol to find." You say, giving your best curtsy with your raincoat and running out of the room to the next door. Why escape now? You can take on the WORLD. You come to a large pair of double doors with a golden border. You see Thomas run into the room from the corridor to the right of you. "Thomas!" You call out. Thomas is absolutely DRENCHED in blood. "Heya, Thundy! I went down that green corridor, hoping for some gold... Some merchant guy kept calling for me, telling me that if I followed him riches would await me... Turns out he was some sorta..." You stop Thomas mid-sentence. "Some sort of half-human husk that tried to kill you and wear your skin?" You ask. "Yeah. Been there." Thomas chuckles. "Ready to claim our prize, Thundy?" Thomas asks. Are you ready to open the door?
