Pros The world and overall visual design of the game is GORGEOUS. The soundtrack (especially the battle music+) is amazing. The story is gripping, if somewhat cliche. Nilin is a very interesting character. Memory remixing is refreshingly original, and a lot of fun. Cons Aside from Nilin, most characters are generic and lack depth. The combo lab was an interesting idea that never came together. There are only four memory remixing segments. LAME! Other (Neutral Points) The game is short (8-10 hours). This isn't really an issue for a $40 game I guess... Level design is extremely linear. This really isn't a bad thing, but given how interesting the world is, you really feel like you want to explore it. Combat is very hit or miss. It's very reminiscent of Arkham Asylum/City, and each encounter (after the first few episodes) generally requires you change up your tactics depending on enemy composition. There is a good amount of strategy involved in dealing with the various enemy types, though I found myself wanting more. Combos CAN be chained between enemies, but it is ridiculously hard to do and requires perfect execution. Having beaten the game on the hardest difficulty, I only managed to do this a few times. Overall, I actually had a pretty fun time with Remember Me. It is by no means a great game, but it was a good experience overall. Remember Me was a breath of fresh air in terms of concept and design, that fell short on its execution. This is an IP that definitely warrants a sequel, because with a bit of refinement I have no doubt that it will become a great franchise. 6h ago
