In Memoriam Let’s see here, I actually have a script today, so I have to follow it. Hehe. Today’s video isn’t a video about cooking or anything, today I’m addressing publicly a little issue that I’ve seen on the forums at team9000.net. See, lately, everyone on the forums is like this: -- [light hearted music] Me: Oh, hey, guys, how’s it going? Just here to check on my alerts and browse the forums- Nerd: [whiny voice] “OMG NO MINECRAFT SONIC SNNNESSHH? TEAM9000 IS DEAD” [faint voice] (can I have op anyway please?) -- I’m looking at you Ty-…Tsysign? Tsystem error? Tea is a sin? I dunno. [shrug] But I feel that Team9000 isn’t a website just for Minecraft, as it never has been a community like Planet Minecraft- (I’m from there!) NO ONE CARES- Or other websites that seem to be strictly dedicated to a game of blocks. Hehe. Team9000 is a gaming community, and so, I’ll break this down into simple words to try and not confuse the masses. [put on sophisticated glasses, try to read] Gaming is the running of specialized applications known as electronic games, especially on machines designed for such programs and, in a more recent trend, using personal computers on the Internet in which case the activity is known as online gaming. A person who plays electronic games is called a gamer. Community is a group of people living together in one place, esp. one practicing common ownership: "a community of nuns" (…why is that an actual example-) or all the people living in a particular area or place: "local communities". So, joining the two words together, you have people who play electronic games congregated (That means to gather together, if you didn’t know) in one place (or online) who do stuff about various games. Now the only problem here is that Team9000 got really big on the fact that it had one of the largest Minecraft Classic servers of all time. …Imma let you fini- That joke is really old. We’re not doing that one. Nope. …OFALLTIME- Anyway, the problem is that a good chunk of people 1) Don’t know how to play other games, like FPS or RTS or anything ending with an S, practically 2) Don’t own any other games because all they play is Minecraft a. You poor bastards 3) Don’t want to play any other games with this community and the only reason they came on was for? Minecraft. Yeaaah, it’s not a good situation. And so, while the servers for MineCraft get shut down, the website changes a bit, we all notice a good bit of the Minecraft fanbase leaving the community for the previously stated reasons. Now, I’m not saying a lot of the whole community of Team9000 is leaving. We’re just losing the hardcore Minecraft fans. (and if you ask me that’s not exactly a bad thing-) There’s a pretty good percentage of the place that plays other games and is on MUMBLE. Y’know , the voice chat thing that we ALL USE? I mean, come on, if you’re not using Mumble, you’re not cool. Teastain asked when was the last time I talked to more than 10 players in a day. Uhhh… TODAY? Mumble is pretty active, it just depends on when you hop on. If you always hop on at like… 5 in the morning, NO ONE IS GOING TO BE ON. Why? IT’S FIVE IN THE MORNING YOU TWA- But seriously. All T9k is going through right now is a… weeding process. We’re getting all of the Minecraft junkies out, and welcoming the hardcore and casual gamers back in. It’s a relief, really, because now I can play games like The Hidden and The Ship with everyone, without someone going -- Nerd: Heeey, can we play Minecra- Me: NO -- It’s pretty awesome now. And, with some of the people on Team9000 enjoying my videos (all… two of you (iloveyoupleasedon’tleaveme)), I can focus on being more creative instead of having to sigh because we have to play a game which has kiiiiiind of gotten old for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy hopping on a server every once in a while or playing Tekkit or Hexxit or something like that. But Minecraft is kind of dead for me, I’ve played my good share, and I owe Minecraft to introducing me to PC gaming and this community. Anyway, that’s the end of my video, if you liked it, hit the Like button because that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, I’ll catch you guys later, and before I go, a quiiiiiiiick announcement about this channel. Tomorrow, September 4th, 2013, I start school and I’m going into my Junior Year. I want to get good grades and focus more on that, but I still want to keep making videos. I’ll be making videos approximately every month or so, with more professionalism (HAH) and uh… yeah. Hehe. There’s also this video here, talking about it. I’m in my uniform! Aha! Yeah. That’s the end, I’ll catch you guys later, paz afuera! [outro, peacekiss]
