The definition of otaku still is someone that is unhealthy gathering stuff in certain books, movies, games, and so on from a certain thing, as one is a collector in a bad therm, not a nerd at all.

as a nerd is not specifically buying the fanservice, also not the same term as Hikkokomori or NEET.
Hence Otakus is a japenese word you should keep it with the japanese term.
That's why kids calling themselfes otakus because they watch lots-o-animu piss me off. Otaku is bond to the term buying and owning stuff.
