The Internet is a fantastic source of information, communication and entertainment. People use the Internet every day, and it’s a big part of an average person’s daily life. Not just in school or work context, but also as a communication tool. However, some websites and Internet activities can cause damage in a young mind. The Internet contains a lot of information, about literally everything. Some of this information is not meant for young people to read or watch. Unfortunately, the producers of these websites have no control over the people who use them. Although there is an age-limit, it’s often very easy to break. So, how can this information cause damage in a young mind? There are a lot of pictures and stories about death, violence and sex on the Internet. These things can be very traumatic for young people, and in rare cases, it can stay with them, the rest of their life, hunting their memory. Young people can be very sensitive to death, violence and sex. The reason for this can be summed in one word, understanding. Young people have difficulties with understanding these things, because it´s far from their reality. Some people may say that the young ones need to experience bad things also, so that they get prepared for the bad things in life. Moreover, some people don’t want their children to see these things at all. Is killing and violence something young people should deal with on a daily basis? A picture of a brutally killed person can actually be very disturbing, and cause a lot of pain. Some websites also contains pictures, films and information that is very misrepresented, and can lead to misunderstandings and confusion in a young mind. Websites on the Internet is so brutal that they can disturb a young children’s mind. How can this problem be solved? Even though all parents are different, they always have that one thing in common, the love of their child. Moreover, loving parents don’t want their children any harm, so how is the best way of isolating the children from the dangerous websites, and should they be isolated from it? Some parents want their children to see everything, and prepare them for things they may experience or see in the real world. Moreover, other parents want to protect their children from watching these kinds of things. Personally, I think that children should not be exposed to everything on the Internet. That is most likely the opinion of the majority of parents.
