Never tell your password to anyone. Wednesday, January 01, 2014 15:59 - Insolitus: I can't put anyone in leadership anymore than you can. 16:00 - LINKSWORD2: No, I can't. But I've been a leader for much longer than you. The council all know me. 16:00 - LINKSWORD2: I'm not going to THROW away TKO. 16:00 - Insolitus: Are you trying to bully me? 16:00 - LINKSWORD2: Your suggestions for leadership are weak. 16:01 - LINKSWORD2: Soulie's not interested, Zant doesn't care, Teckel is ALL about DPS'ing in STF's and shit... 16:01 - LINKSWORD2: If we can't agree on something that benefits the fleet, then our leadership is broken. 16:02 - LINKSWORD2: And if leadership is broken, then we need people that CAN benefit the fleet. 16:09 - LINKSWORD2: And if you're so stubborn to put your friends into leadership just because you don't want my GIRLFRIEND in the fleet leadership, you're shooting yourself in the face. I'm sorry, but I know what Deanna can do, and whether she was my girlfriend or not, what she can add to the fleet as a leader is a thousand times better than anyone you have suggested. 16:09 - Insolitus: I am trying to put my friends in the leadership? 16:09 - LINKSWORD2: My relationship with her has nothing at all to do with the fleet, except for the fact that we met on STO. 16:17 - LINKSWORD2: If I wanted to bully you, I would've done it already. 16:19 - LINKSWORD2: What's aggravating so many people in the fleet is that nobody is taking action... 16:19 - LINKSWORD2: What we need is action, not words that delay action further. 16:21 - LINKSWORD2: Selina has his own fleets to handle, Soulie is no longer interested, Zant doesn't care, Teckel isn't interested, plus, his entire interest is in DPS, not fleet politics. 16:22 - LINKSWORD2: Deanna has been in the council for months, and the core of the fleet has been that the people on the council are considered for future leadership. 16:25 - LINKSWORD2: The only reason that you are leader, and Kiana and Cheyenne have been leaders is that you were the best choice when I wasn't available. 16:27 - Insolitus: Yes, me and Kiana were promoted leaders when TKO was in a deep crisis and we were the only ones there to do the job. And we saved TKO and kept it going so you had a fleet to come back to. I have earned my position. 16:27 - LINKSWORD2: .... I'm sorry... Who started the fleet and kept it going as long as it went before you were a leader? 16:27 - Insolitus: Anyway, you are correct that action is needed 16:28 - Insolitus: I propose that we put this to a vote. Candidates: Deanna and Selina. The one getting the majority of staff votes will be promoted to replace Cheyenne. 16:30 - Insolitus: Both would be excellent fleet leaders, and the only reason I support Selina over Deanna is that it is more balanced 16:32 - LINKSWORD2: Alright. While I agree with that idea, I need some time to talk to them. 16:33 - Insolitus: Sure thing. I need to go to bed, in any case 16:33 - LINKSWORD2: Just give me 2 minutes. 16:34 - Insolitus: I'm not in that big a hurry 16:34 - LINKSWORD2: Oh, by the way.... 16:34 - LINKSWORD2: In terms of the votes for Selina vs. Deanna, I don't want to limit the votes to staff. I see that as too narrow. 16:34 - LINKSWORD2: How about we open the vote to the entire fleet? 16:34 - Insolitus: No 16:35 - Insolitus: The staff nominations have always been staff business. I think it should stay that way 16:37 - LINKSWORD2: That can't work, because Cheyenne, Deanna, Selina, Zant, and I can't vote, because we are too involved with the nominees. That would leave You, Andrew, and Teckel as remaining voters. And we can't put the fleet's fate to just three members. 16:37 - LINKSWORD2: Therefore, it needs to go to the vote of the entire fleet. 16:38 - LINKSWORD2: Otherwise, it practically implies a null vote, which would kill this entire process. 16:39 - Insolitus: Why can't you rest vote? Doesn't that imply you can't separate personal and fleet business? 16:45 - LINKSWORD2: I can vote but I choose not to because of the fact that many other people of the leadership, council, and possibly, the fleet could see it as biased. Cheyenne can't vote based on principal because he is being removed from leadership and by default loses his vote. Deanna and Selina can't vote because they are in the nominations. Michael can't vote for the same reason that I'm backing out - personal bias. We all talk on Skype rather frequently and therefore puts you, Teckel, and Andrew on the outside of that circle. (Which singles you three out as being the only voters in interest of shutting down any and all claims of bias.) 16:48 - LINKSWORD2: To add to that, it doesn't have to be the ENTIRE fleet that votes.... Just specific ranks, to make sure that the voters are informed enough to make an appropriate decision. 16:49 - Insolitus: OK, now I'm confused. It was OK to try to make Deanna a leader by looking for a staff concensus, but if there's to be a vote between two candidates, then the staff are too biased? 16:51 - LINKSWORD2: Well, since we can't come to a concensus viably, we have to look at options outside of the staff level of the fleet, therefore, to other ranks in the members. 16:52 - LINKSWORD2: It's a different scenario between having one potential staff member, and two. 16:52 - Insolitus: How exactly? 16:53 - LINKSWORD2: Because it puts too much decision, and division between the fleet staff. 16:57 - Insolitus: And it's better to spread that division to lower ranks as well? 16:57 - Insolitus: No, I propose we do this the same way we did the council promotion in which Legatus was elected 16:59 - Insolitus: All the current staff members vote, and then the results are final. We present the new leader to the fleet with the total backing of the entire staff 17:01 - Insolitus: The split inside the staff can start healing and the wider membership doesn't have to be made aware of all the drama and and division. 17:01 - LINKSWORD2: We hope so. But, right now, it's 5pm here, midnight where you are, and I need to go. 17:01 - LINKSWORD2: Decisions will have to be made later. 17:02 - Insolitus: But we got the ball rolling, didn't we? 17:03 - Insolitus: We take action and whatever the outcome, at least we'll be rid of this particular... unpleasantness
