“The Inner Power” © Copyright Pending The time was of peace, happiness. There was no violence, no-one broke laws. Also, there was not even time. The world this young man lived in was of eternal happiness. He is a very wise young man, physically no older than 16 years of age the moment time stopped. He spent hundreds of years studying every subject he could from Psychology, different languages, to the highest levels of mathematics. He was also a very curious young man. There, in the tranquil life he lived was a young woman. He had a crush for this girl. She too, is a very intelligent being, as well as beautiful. A very curious one too, also reading into similar subjects in the labyrinth library as well. They talk to each other through the bookshelves, studying the same material. And note, they are also the same age. Their name’s, are Annika & King One day, out of many, many days, Annika decided to change up her walk to the library. As she was walking she couldn’t help but notice a black and white house with a sign in the front yard: “No Tresspassing.” She looked around, awaiting the coast to be cleared. Once she saw her opportunity, she took it. She quickly made it over the tiny fence in the front yard, and then made her way to the back of the house. Once she was there, she then started using her keys to pull out the nails from the boards to gain access. But all the while king followed her from a distance. “What is she up to? I was going to scope out that house too.” He said to himself. “What does she know about it that I don’t?” King, curious as always, decided to follow her further and hopped the fence of the neighboring house. He peeps through the fence, to see her slowly pulling the nails out of the boards that were blocking the window. “So that’s what she’s up to..” He said in a low, hushed manner. Roughly five minutes later, she finally slowly pulled the last board off of the window. King woke up, surprised that he had even fallen asleep. He peeped through the fence, and sees Annika climbing through the window. He follows her by hopping the fence. As he hops over, he lands on a balloon. One, out of the millions of balloons that were unleashed the days before at the festival. *Bang!* The sound echoed throughout the house. Annika shrieked loudly, but covered her mouth quickly with the sweater sleeve over her hand. She slowly peeked her head up, to look outside, and saw pieces of a balloon on the lawn. King is just on the other side of the wall, hiding beneath the window. Feared of being caught by Annika, he remains beneath the window for at least a minute after Annika leaves. But she didn’t leave right away. She was most likely contemplating whether to leave or not. King can hear her heart beating through the walls. It was pounding really hard, and fast. After a moment, he then started to hear her heart slowing down, and the sound grows faint, and Annika releases a sigh of relief. She slowly crawled away from the window, into the living room, away from the kitchen where the windows location is. King then starts to climb through the window, and quickly makes his way across the kitchen and leans up against the wall separating the living room from the kitchen. He then sees Annika in front of five objects, A brick, a container, a radio, a cup, and a bucket. As she touched them, they made noises, like bells, But each object made a distinctively different note. She and king figured out that if pressed in the correct order, something would happen. All the while, Annika had no idea that King was beside her. King was observing his surroundings, and noticed a picture frame. The frame contained words saying: “Without light there is darkness. Something humans can not control or harness.” He then knew the purpose of the frame, and the objects that produce the sounds of bells. “It’s the bells that were played during the speech!” King said to himself. “She’s playing the first half of the notes, but she doesn’t know the rest... To figure that out, just simply by recalling the bells from the speech, and noticed the objects here made the same sound. Man she is smart and beautiful.” He said to himself looking at her. ‘Ding, ding, deng, dong, deng, ding’ Annika played, struggling to remember the rest. She’s now getting aggravated, as he could tell by her using profanity. He slowly steps on the carpet, making no noise. He gets on one knee, and kneels next to her. He has his elbow on his knee, and his hand on his mouth, in the ‘thinking’ position. She, all the while was looking away, and hasn’t noticed him right to her side. She hits the notes; ‘Ding, ding, deng, dong, deng, ding-‘ She hits his knee, because his knee was blocking her arm. She sits there, in terror, as her face turns very pale. She slowly looks up to see King looking at the objects. She screams, but King quickly covers her mouth, without losing focus of the objects. “Shh.” He hushed. She slowly nodded, and King removed his hand. ‘Dung, dong, dong, ding, dang.’ The objects made as king touched the objects. They both sit there, nervous on what awaits them. King taps the radio, but no sound is made. Suddenly, they see a grey object materialize. The object was a Keyboard, with a monitor. Annika looks at king: “How did you know I was coming here?” King slowly starts to blush. “Well, I didn’t.” He replied. “But..that didn’t answer why you
