Hi,

I'd like to apply for Cannabis Discussion moderator.

My name is Pieter,
I live in Belgium. My timezone is GMT +1 (Brussels).
I'm on bluelight about 2 hours each day, sometimes more, sometimes less. 2 hours a day is my usual standard though, unless there are special circumstances, which I would ofcourse first warn you guys about.

I think I would be a good addition to the CD team, as cannabis is the drug I have used/use the most and am the most knowledgable about. I'm well informed about the way Cannabis discussion and BlueLight in general work and I have previous moderator experience from moderating Druc Culture, as well as from moderating a dutch drug-forum (global mod there). So closing posts when appropriate, merging posts, deleting posts etc. will not be a problem. I also know where to move a thread when it's in the wrong place. I learn fast and I also studied ICT, if that makes any difference. I think my previous experiences with cannabis and, unfortunately even addiction could be useful in moderating this forum. I would love to get this oppertunity, because to be honest, I am planning on throwing in the towel in Drug Culture. I have recently decided that I want to get clean from abusing hard drugs, and the drug-glorification that is a constant in Drug Culture makes it hard for me to be in that particular subforum so often, to moderate it. I'd still love to remain on staff, just not there.

I think it's important that the information a moderator provides is correct at all times. And that when (s)he speaks from personal experience, (so no facts) that (s)he should clearly state this. I know alot of users mistake stories for facts, but I find it very important to get my information from verified sources. (even when I was a bluelighter I hated spreading misinformation) Now that I'm a moderator I consider this essential. I'd rather admit I don't know what someone is talking about than pretend I do and guess.

I am interested in CD because it's a nice forum with friendly people who talk about their experiences with cannabis as well as other aspects that are involved with the use of cannabis. I think it is a nice place for smokers to chat and (should I become the next CD mod) I'd like to help keep it that way.

An example of an idea for a CD thread: "The psychedelic effects of cannabis? Underrated or not?" Sounds like a thread that could generate some worthwhile discussion. Just the first one that came to mind

Alright, I guess that's pretty much it, I'll leave it to you guys to make the final decision.
