||--------|| Background ||--------|| Hiroshi Kazuki was born in the deep hidden forest lands within a Kitsune village that was relatively close to an outside village. This area of the forest, more specifically this village, was focused on growing together as a whole while isolated from the un-trusting outside world. His kind being nothing more than myth and lore for make believe stories of the other races that ruled the lands outside the hidden forests. He was raised by the entire village, just as all new-born Kitsune were to be raised, taught the ways of his kind and given multiple philosophies and ideals to think on, so that he could forge his own code of life. By the age of four years old, he had snuck outside of the village to explore the mystical forest that protected his kind from ever being found, and he'd come across a celestial being that was horribly wounded. Being the naive little kit he was, he threw caution aside and let his curiosity get the best of him, he approached the creature. Hiroshi spent the majority of that day to find and bring the celestial being to a nearby cave hidden behind a series of trees. He took extra time to gather food and clean water to bring back for it as it laid resting on his blanket, while he even tried to tend to the wounds by wrapping pieces of his clothing over them. Though after about two nights of the creature being stuck in a deep sleep, Hiroshi awoke to see the creature floating from the ground, high up into the air, only to vanish in a misty fog. Once the fog had finally lifted, he'd realized just how long he'd been gone from his village...He'd be in so much trouble for leaving unannounced for such a long time, and how worried everyone must be about him. Hiroshi quickly got up from his dream-like state and ran back towards his village, running as fast as he possibly could, only to get slower and slower until he was just standing still. His eyes slowly watered up and he froze in place as he saw a horrifying sight: his village, home, friends, and family all smoldering in ruin and covered in blood. He'd slowly walked closer to enter the village itself, all of the buildings already crumbling with the fire slowly dying out, it was as if it was destroyed much earlier than when he arrived. As he walked through what little remained of his entire life, despite how hard he searched, he couldn't find a single body anywhere, only blood stains scattered everywhere. He was in complete shock, he had only left for such a small amount of time, everything was perfectly fine and now it was all destroyed and everyone gone. Only at the age of four, and this small Kitsune had already known the pain that this world offers, and he soon found himself crying in the center of what used to be his village. Despite how much he cried, or how loud he screamed, no one came to him and no response given to his screams. After a good few hours, he had finally found himself passing out in what used to be his home, laying in the ashy remains of his room to sleep. He stayed like this for days despite his hunger and thirst, he wanted nothing more than to wake up from this horrible nightmare... Having done nothing but cry and sleep for days, he was finally approached by someone, his eyes too blurred and tired, he couldn't really make out who or what it was. It was the strange creature that he'd saved from before, and it walked up right in front of him to place a single digit on his forehead. Hiroshi being too overwhelmed by all the feelings inside him to react, he suddenly felt a surge of...something deep inside him, as this creature spoke to him in a smooth and whispered voice. "Do not cry young one, for you are still alive and carry those you love within you...Also, if it was not for you, it is possible that I would not be here now to speak with you." Hiroshi wanted to speak, but he couldn't seem to form any words that could drown out his pain and tears, but no matter how much pain he was in he could hear this voice clear as day. "For tending to my wounds, and taking care of me in my time of need, so shall I take care of you in yours...I have given you two gifts...The first you will find out once the time has come for it to be used, while the second...With the use of your kind heart, you will be able to aid those in need with a single touch." Listening to these words, unable to really understand what this creature meant by them, he could only think about what he would do now...He had no friends or family, no home, he was lost and alone... "Survive." Echoed throughout his mind as the world seemed to get brighter and brighter with each second, before he'd lost consciousness. After a long rest that lasted almost an entire day, the young Kitsune woke up only to be over-taken by the pain of hunger and thirst both at the same time. He looked around only to find that the terrain was not familiar to him, other than the fact that the forest itself was still the same as his home. His thoughts strayed back to those memories, only to be interrupted by a growl of his stomach, and with a shaky start he lifted himself up to his feet and decided that he wanted to live. Months went by that he lived off of nothing but nature's scraps and what little water sources he could find to quench his thirst and keep himself relatively clean to avoid disease or having his scent tracked. Little by little though, his body was eating away at itself from the lack of food, small patches of berries and apples could only get him so far....But one day while picking the last of his berries, he'd heard something calling out to him in a foreign tongue, it was an Elven hunter who was right across from him. Hiroshi had never met anyone outside of his race before, nor did he know anything about them or their languages, was he going to be killed by this hunter? After a long silence and frozen stares, the hunter simply pulled something from his sash and placed it onto the ground and walked away with a smile. He waited a few minutes to verify that the hunter was gone before going up to examine and sniff at the item placed on the ground, it was a loaf of bread with some honey-butter on it. This process of meeting between him and the hunter continued on for weeks, until after a whole month's time their meeting had an unexpected occurrence. By this time Hiroshi was rather comfortable being close to this Elf and eating the food right beside the hunter as a sign of trust. But to his sudden surprise the hunter pulled out a bow and aimed it directly at him, he cringed backwards and his eyes started to tear up 'was this hunter just feeding me to kill me later?'. He gave a soft whine as he got ready to run, but in that exact moment the arrow flew right past his head and a yelping sound was heard along with a loud thump as the body of a wolf landed about just a foot behind him with an arrow pierced directly through it's skull. Hiroshi was confused and scared all at the same time, 'the hunter saved me?', 'that wolf was about to kill me, and I didn't even realize it...' he'd thought, before he could really finalize what all just happened the hunter simply reached down and placed a hand on his head while taking the arrow out of the wolf and saying something in a foreign language. The little Kitsune was a bit saddened at the fact that this hunter was patting his head just like his parents used to, but before he really knew what he was doing, he found himself hugging the Elf as he kept holding back his tears and sniffling. The hunter simply patted him on the head once more before getting up and taking the wolf's corpse and walking away after having saved him from the vicious creature, 'Is he leaving me?' He thought, Hiroshi was tired of being alone and hungry...
