Chapter 1:
Overview of a central location, Aldcourt. The first major crime -involving three bandits and an enigmatic figure- is committed. Ends with the criminal retreating to their base of operations. Meanwhile, Porphyria Tipp and her friend Viola Houston are attacked whilst in school.
Chapter 2:
A detective, Blaine Vogel, and his partner, Hans Alvarado, arrive at the scene of the crime and discover something unusual. The pair report back to their employer and seek the help of Lennox Aberforth and his group of freedom-fighters, including Galen Feuerborn, Kailyn Ophelia and Dex.
Chapter 3:
The enemy of Lennox' group and tyrannical leader of a large area of England - including Aldcourt, Alfred Matthias Vaugant, surveys his empire. He later discovers some inconsistencies in the resources he has and takes action; specifically targeting a remote village. Viola is killed by the attacking group, but Porphyria escapes with the help of Boderick Hennessey, one of the attackers who reveals himself to be a double agent.
Chapter 4:
Blaine and Hans meet up with Colton Faulkner, a friend of Lennox. Colton arranges a meeting with a mercenary who will be able to help them with their investigation and the current feud. Kailyn reports that there has been an increase of zombies in the area. Porphyria is met by Marie Lorin, who tells her that Boderick is not a double agent and that he was going to take her to Jacques, a sadistic and psychotic dictator of an area further north. Marie and Porphyria successfully flee from the school.
Chapter 5:
Blaine, Hans, Lennox, Colton, Kailyn and Galen meet up with Anya Ricard, the mercenary, in an abandoned watch tower. A deal is made, and Anya joins them. Due to zombies breaking into the tower, Hans is separated from the others. He is then saved by Dex. Dex entrusts Hans with some information and a small artefact. Hans later meets up with the rest of the group. Meanwhile, Boderick returns to Jacques and proposes a new strategy.
Chapter 6:
Alfred is called by his lead-researcher, Vernon Lyons. Vernon tells him that he too has made arrangements for a meetup with some mercenaries. Alfred takes Jacob DeRosa, his second in command, and May Chambers, the arms manufacturer for his empire. They are met by Colton who drives them to the rendezvous point. Alfred and Jacob meet the mercenaries, who introduce themselves as Lionel and Fine, but are interrupted by a horde of zombies. They fight them off and escape back to safety. At the same time, Thad Fagan and Dewey Fox try to survive the night in the forest.
Chapter 7:
Hans comes up with a plan to infiltrate a power plant owned by Alfred. He takes the artefact with him and sets off alone. Meanwhile, Galen discovers something crucial about the increase of zombies in the area. Blaine pieces together evidence and tries to solve the crime. Marie attempts to teach Porphyria how to defend herself but is unsuccessful. The two later venture off, unknowingly venturing into unfriendly territory.
Chapter 8:
Thad finds a town and enters the inn. He kills the owner, Greg, and converts it into his own personal base of operations. Hans reaches the primary power plant and starts to destroy it before he is caught by Alfred. From afar, Marie and Porphyria observe the two. Jacques attacks Lennox and a few of his soldiers when they are on a supply run, killing them all except from Lennox. Boderick spies on the rest of Lennox's group in secret.
Chapter 9:
Ignacio Vaugant, father to Alfred, suddenly appears before his son and questions him on his recent actions. The two talk for a while before Ignacio gives Alfred some advice. Dex discovers Boderick and manages to chase him off. Colton meets up with Vernon in secret and gives him the blueprints for something. Blaine recieves news of a murder, a new crime, and sets his focus on that.
