Hey Douglas, In terms of feedback, I can tell you that you were in the top half of candidates and that you were in our final round of decisions - so to get to there, you did have a very good interview and good application. There were a couple points that stood out however. On the application side, you were lacking examples of what would make you suitable for the role - you mention many skills and QCPA, but never truly give firm concrete examples of times when you used those skills to help a group succeed. For a position like Event Manager, where we need people we are absolutely confident in their leadership ability, specific examples are really helpful. Also, you mentioned contacting exchange students before they get to Queen's to answer questions as an initiative you would make a reality, which is something that already happens. Finally, it would have been nice to see more of "you" in the application itself - don't be afraid to write longer answers and inject some of your personality into the responses, especially to a committee like ours, because otherwise it just sounds like listing off traits that most other candidates are also going to be listing off. From the interview side, you did quite well - we were very impressed by the way you were able to come across as a friendly and responsible individual. The only major feedback we can give on the interview was that when asked to talk about your specific new initiative that you would implement, you never really explained one new initiative - more explained that you wanted to make our events more inclusive and mentioned the buddy system. As I said, you got into our final round of decisions, which meant your application was near the top end of those received so don't take this feedback in a negative light. Unfortunately we had an insane number of really talented people apply this year and we had to turn down a good many who had good applications and interviews, but you definitely set yourself up well if you have any interest of being a Canuck this year. If you want clarification on any of this feedback, or have any other questions, just send me another email. Best Wishes, ~ Max & Somer
