This post is a suggestion of adding the web-based animation RWBY to the anime list. The series which, as of now, consists of one volume with 16 episodes (they differ in length), was produced by the production studio Rooster Teeth. It was created and directed by Monty Oum. This series would count as a doujinshi/independent anime due to not being produced in Japan (or East Asia, such as China, Korea), and neither being a joint between any of the named countries. This series was completely produced in the USA. To meet the criteria for this, I have to say that the company really is reputable as they released numerous titles, be it animations, gaming videos, but also talk shows. The series RWBY won but one award, the International Academy of Web Television award for the best animated series. I can’t say for sure if the last criteria of a doujinshi/indie anime is met. While it is (unfortunately) totally unknown whether Mounty Oum is Japanese or not (according to himself he is “Cambodian, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese”), it is out of the question that he is a professional creator of animations. In this case, I’d even say he is a creator of anime, although it’s an American anime but well, still anime. Also, one of the senior character designers was Eileen Chang, who, according to her name, is probably Chinese. As of the anime type, I’d call it, well, a web-based anime. As far as I know, it never aired on TV. It premiered at the RTX 2013. The episodes were uploaded to the website of Rooster Teeth, YouTube, and Crunchyroll. They released the series on Blu-ray and DVD in November 2013.
